Sergey was born on February 25, 1972 in Ulyanovsk in a Soviet family. From the fifth grade he began to engage in biathlon and by the end of school he defended the first adult category in this sport.
If you dream about something, and it's close to your field of activity, to what you understand, never forget about your dream and try to realize it at the first opportunity. If you have faith and chances, do it!
In 1989, Sergey entered the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, from which he graduated in 1995 with a degree in physics engineering. Starting from the first year at the age of 18, he began to earn money by laying and repairing roofs, and then switched to selling roofing materials.
The crisis is the perfect time for communication. Only in a crisis circumstancies you can get the best quality at the lowest price in a short time and at the right time. From the point of view of the organization of the project, it is simply impossible to come up with a better time than the crisis.
In 1992, in order to simplify the processing of roofing material supplies to large facilities, together with Igor Rybakov, a fellow student at MIPT, he created the TECHNONICOL company. The company's name is inspired by the Nicolas Prism, an optical device used in science and technology. The first "office" of TECHNONICOL with an area of 20 sq. m. m was in the cargo garage.
If a person has enough money, then he is definitely not a businessman and not an entrepreneur. Entrepreneur always has a lot of new ideas in his head that require resources. And that's why there are always not enough resources.
Making good revenue on supplies and observing the huge demand for roofing materials on the market, the partners (even at that time students) thought about launching their production. The opportunity to purchase an old "dead" Soviet plant appeared in 1994 in Vyborg.
Although the distribution of roofing materials remained the main activity, by 1997 TECHNONICOL had grown to 5 own factories and 35 sales offices in various cities of Russia. Roofs are always needed by people, and there were few offers on the market then.
The most expensive thing in industry is the cost of people's labor and the correction of marriage, especially the correction of marriage in the consumer.
Sergey continues to launch production in Russia and the CIS, and in 2001 the production of flexible shingles under the Shinglas brand in Lithuania began. In the next five years, stone wool, extruded polystyrene foam, composite tiles, polymer membranes and much more were added to the TECHNONICOL range.
In 2004, Sergey decided to establish the first TECHNONICOL research center for the development of next-generation construction materials.
In 2005, TECHNONICOL came out on top in Europe in terms of the production of roofing membranes – the main material for waterproofing roofs.
The main value of any company is people, a team of experienced specialists motivated to achieve maximum results.
Now TECHNONICOL ranks first among manufacturers of building materials in Russia.
The company's revenue in 2020 amounted to RUB 112.9 bn.
Since 2005, Sergey has been implementing the ideology of efficient production and cost leadership at his enterprises.
In 2013, he became the sole managing partner of the TECHNONICOL production complex. After he received the first Entrepreneur of the Year award from Ernst & Young.
Under Sergey's leadership, the average value of labor productivity in the company reached more than RUB 18 mln per person per year (at some enterprises – more than RUB 40 mln), which is four times higher than this indicator in Russia.
Sergey devotes his free time mainly to biathlon, and also goes hiking in Altai, Sakhalin and Kamchatka and participates in sailing competitions on the Technonicol boat.
Sport assisted me to cope with excitement, emotions in business, in everyday and social life. Intensive running in training or competitions helps to weed out unnecessary things, free your head from unnecessary information, garbage.
Every race is a kind of general cleaning in the head.
